Cloxacillin is a semisynthetic antibiotic in the same class as penicillin. Cloxacillin is used against staphylococci that produce beta-lactamase. This drug has a weaker antibacterial activity than benzylpencillin, and is devoid of serious toxicity except for allergic reactions.
