Cardura Information
Cardura belongs to the kind of drugs called alpha-adrenergic blockers. This drug helps the blood vessels by relaxing and expanding them to allow the blood to pass easily. It also helps to make it easy to urinate by relaxing the muscles in the prostate and bladder neck.
Cardura Indications
Cardura is used to cure hypertension or high blood pressure and benign prostate hyperplasia or enlarged prostate. This drug may also be used in other purposes not mentioned here.
Cardura Warnings
If you have kidney disease or liver disease, inform your doctor about it first before you take Cardura. If you have the said condition, your doctor might adjust your dose or require you a special monitoring during the treatment with this drug. Cardura belongs to the FDA pregnancy category C that means that it is unknown whether this drug could harm an unborn baby. Talk to our doctor first before taking this drug if you are pregnant. This drug may pass to breast milk. If possible, avoid taking this drug if you are breast-feeding a baby. Be careful if you are doing any hazardous work and using hot water. Avoid being overheated because it may cause you an undesirable effect.
Cardura Intake Guidelines
Follow the exact direction or instruction given to you by your doctor. In case you did not understand the instruction, do not hesitate to ask your doctor, pharmacist or nurse to clarify or explain them to you. It is advisable to take Cardura with a full glass of water. In case it is difficult for you to swallow the tablets, you could crush it and mix it in liquid or other soft foods like pudding or applesauce. This drug could cause dizziness so to avoid falling, take the first dose at bedtime. If possible, it is also advisable to take each dose at bedtime. You may feel dizzy when you change position. Be careful if you stand or sit up when you are from a lying position, most of all if you wake up during the night. Even if feel better, it is not advisable to suddenly stop taking this drug. Your blood pressure might increase if you suddenly stop taking this drug.
Cardura Dosage
You may obtain the dosage from your doctor. The dose varies from person to person. Follow the exact dosage given to you by your doctor.
Cardura Overdose
Some of the symptoms of overdose with this drug are weakness, dizziness, and fainting; weak and fast pulse; cold, clammy skin; and a possibility to loss consciousness or coma. In case you overdose Cardura, look for emergency medical attention.
Cardura Missed Dose
In case you miss a dose of Cardura, take the missed dose as soon as you remember but if it is almost time for the next dose, just skip the missed dose and take the next dose that was regularly scheduled. You might have a severe low blood pressure if you take a double dose of this drug so do not double its dose. In case, you miss doses for already several days in a row, you might need to restart the treatment with a lower dose so contact your doctor before you take additional doses.
Cardura Side Effects
Some of the serious side effects of Cardura are allergic reaction such as difficulty in breathing, closing of the throat, swelling of your lips, and hives; increased heartbeat; shortness in breathing or chest pain; prolonged or painful erection; and rash. In case you experience any of the said serious side effects, stop taking Cardura, look for emergency medical attention or contact your doctor immediately. Some of the less serious side effects of Cardura are dizziness or drowsiness; fluid retention or slight weight gain; increased urination; headache, irritability, or depression; vivid dreams; nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, abdominal pain, or decreased appetite; joint or muscle aches; decreased sex drive; weakness, fatigue, or not feeling well; and numbness or tingling in the hands, feet, arms or legs. In case you suspect or experience any of the said less serious side effects, you may still continue using Cardura but make sure to talk to your doctor. Some other side effects are not mentioned here. If you suspect or experience unusual or bothersome side effects, talk to your doctor about it.
