How does Lescol/Fluvastatin work?
Lescol/Fluvastatin is belongs to the family of drugs known as statin or Antilipemic Agent and commonly used for the lowering cholesterol and others lipids or fats in the body. Lescol/Fluvastatin is works by blocking an enzyme that is needed by the body to make cholesterol. Lescol/Fluvastatin works by reducing the production of cholesterol by the liver. There are two sorts of cholesterol; first 'bad' sort called LDL (low density lipoprotein) and second 'good' sort called HDL (high density lipoprotein). Lescol/Fluvastatin decreases the production of LDL cholesterol by blocking the action of the enzyme in the liver that’s known as HMG-CoA reeducates, and responsible for its production. Lescol/Fluvastatin decreases the amount of cholesterol in the liver cells, which causes them to take up LDL cholesterol from the blood in the body. The decreased cholesterol production and increased removal of LDL cholesterol from the blood ultimately results in lowered blood cholesterol levels. Statins are normally more effective if taken at night because the body produces most cholesterol at night. Lescol/Fluvastatin also causes a small decrease in the production of other 'bad fats' in the blood called triglycerides, and a small increase in the level of HDL cholesterol. Therefore Lescol/Fluvastatin produced and raised levels of 'good fats'. Lescol/Fluvastatin is used to decrease the blood levels of cholesterol and other fats when these cannot be lowered by diet and exercise alone.
Dosage

The recommended doses of Lescol/Fluvastatin Capsule will be different for different patients, according to the requirements of each patient; you continue to take it for as long as your doctor prescribes, even if you do not feel an immediate benefit. Lescol/Fluvastatin works best when taken long term. Your doctor will start you on a low dose of Lescol/Fluvastatin and gradually increase your dose. If you can not tolerate the recommended dosage, your doctor can prescribe a dose that sufficient for you. Always take Lescol/Fluvastatin with a full glass of water.

• If you have history of heavy alcohol consumption, Lescol/Fluvastatin Capsule should not be used without consulting of doctor.
• If you have the aged over 70 years, Lescol/Fluvastatin Capsule should not be used without consulting of doctor.

Storage
