Indications • Improvement of gastric mucosal lesions eg erosion, hemorrhage, redness & edema associated with acute gastritis & acute exacerbation stage of chronic gastritis.
• Gastric ulcers.
Dosage
The usual adult dosage for oral use is 3 capsules (150 mg of teprenone) daily in three divided doses after meals.
The dosage may be adjusted depending on the patient’s age and symptoms.
Administration
Should be taken with food (Take after meals.).
Adverse drug reactions
Slight increase in liver enzymes. Constipation, feeling of abdominal fullness, diarrhea, dry mouth, nausea, abdominal pain; headache; skin eruption, general itching, redness & warm feeling in the eyelids. Increase in total serum cholesterol levels.
Description
Teprenone occurs as colorless to pale yellow, oily liquid. It has a slight characteristic odor, and is tasteless. It is miscible with methanol, with ethanol (95), with acetone, with chloroform and with hexane, and practically insoluble in water.
